144 years ago yesterday, Bettie Locke initiated herself into Kappa Alpha Theta in Greencastle, Indiana. She then initiated Alice Allen, Bettie Tipton, and Hannah Fitch into the first Greek letter Fraternity known among women. On Saturday, the Eta Omega chapter celebrated Founders Day with the local alumnae chapter and Thetas from the Alpha Mu chapter at University of Missouri. It was awesome to mingle with women who exemplify what it meansto be a Theta and a "leading woman." They reminded us how exciting it is to be part of a sisterhood that will last a lifetime!
Thank you, Bettie, for everything! Happy Founders Day!
We are the Eta Omega chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at Saint Louis University. We were established on November 9th, 2013. We have over 180 wonderful sisters that are alike in many ways but all with unique interests. Our blog will highlight many of these.
